Insurance Agent Fraud

Insurance fraud involves intentional actions by an insurance agent and/or company, a claimant or policyholder, or services providers, during the process of buying, selling, making claims under, or underwriting insurance. One common type of insurance fraud involves faking an accident and/or injuries in order to obtain reimbursement for false claims under an insurance policy. In other cases, false accidents may simply occur on paper, with the claimed damages actually being preexisting damages to vehicles. In more sophisticated cases, an organized insurance claim fraud ring may include the conspiracy of doctors, attorneys, and other professionals in order to profit from false insurance claims. Furthermore, the most typically type of insurance agent fraud occurs when an insurance agent charges more money for insurance premiums than is actually charged by the insurance company for coverage. These cases of insurance fraud can range from a few isolated instances of skimming premiums to massive scams involving hundred of people, and significant amounts of damages.
